About me

Hello everyone!

I’ll start off by explaining who I am and what I do.

My name, is Dirk.
I’m an average guy (read geek) born on in the lovely year of 1989 who deals with life just like every other person would do.

My interests depend on my mood, so they vary from day to day.
But generally speaking you can say that I’m into programming, playing games and spending time with my wife.

I’ve succesfully finished high school (Industrial Information and Communication Technologies) and I got my bachelor degree (Applied computer sience – Application development)

While growing up I first got into HTML when I was about 12 years old.

During my high school carreer I started off with (roughly translated) Technic-Science, a direction that included loads of chemics, physics and math.
The first 2 years (3rd and 4th grade) went fine, although I failed my 5th grade because I couldn’t keep up with everything (especially math, chemics and physics) so I did my 5th grade again in another school and I started with Industrial Information and Communication Technologies.
I passed 5th and 6th grade with flying colours and headed off to college.

In college we dealt with programming languages in the .NET framework (VB.NET / C#) & Java.
I’ve been studying PHP on my own and CSS isn’t really a problem either.

I did my internship at The Selfservice Company in Maastricht, NL.
My assignment was to create a prototype for their new internal CMS called DEEP.
It had to be an asynchroneous, autonomous agent-based system. Built the system using Rhino ServiceBus en MSMQ.
They were very pleased with the results.

Right now I’m working as a software developer for Tobania (previously SAGA which was previously anaXis) here in Belgium
That’s all I gotta say!

Have fun reading through my blog.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me 🙂

Sincerely,
Dirk
